To me poetry is an opportunity to summarise in a fun way, how one is feeling about anything in this now crazy world we live in.  I don’t take myself too seriously and feel it is an opportunity to release all thoughts and put them down on paper.  How often have we been advised to put it in writing?  Writing poetry on many occasions when I would be asked to make a speech or if a colleague was retiring, helped me to avoid a long winded speech to end up going on and boring the audience and sometimes digging a hole for myself.

I have done many poems over the past number of years for colleagues who had a special birthday, or was having a hen night, an engagement and also some who were retiring.   Many friends have also requested me to compose a poem when they would be going to a function and the feedback was excellent and received lots of laughs which is so important in these current crazy days, and so Brads Bespoke Poetry was born.

In 2009, I picked up a small souvenir when visiting Alaska and it contains the meaning of Brad, part of which reveals “You can express your deepest thoughts and feelings best through writing”.   As my maiden name was Bradley and my husband calls me Brad, I felt Brad was the most opportune name to run with.
